Needles:
Scarf – US 8 [5.00mm]
Hat – US 6 [4.00 mm] circular needle, 16"; US 8 [5.00 mm] circular needle, 16" and a set of dpn.

Gauge:
Scarf: 17 Sts and 22 Rows = 4" in Knotted Rib patt, blocked.
Hat: 22 Sts and 21 Rows = 4" in Knotted Rib pattern
(in the round) with larger needles, blocked.
Notes:
The infinity scarf starts with a provisional cast on and is knit lengthwise in one piece. After knitting, the live sts are placed on scrap yarn and the whole scarf is blocked. When scarf is dry, provisional cast on sts and live sts are placed back on needles and the two ends are joined together using the kitchener st. Hat is worked from the bottom-up.
