21 Sts and 34 Rows = 4” square in Sand stitch pattern, blocked.

Body is worked flat from the bottom up, in two pieces. Shoulders are joined, then neck band is picked up and worked. Then armhole band stitches are picked up and worked. Sides are seamed when armhole bands are completed. Front pockets are worked as you go with pocket sides sewn on from wrong side of front.

Troy is inspired by the traditional Russian sleeveless dress, which was meant to be worn over an embroidered blouse. As a layer it is very popular and practical, because it adds warmth and with different tops underneath gives a variety of outfits, and that is why it is a favorite garment of mine, too.
