Fair Isle Weekend takes you on an exciting trip to Fair Isle, a windswept island in Shetland, famous for its traditional colourwork knitting. During her many trips to Fair Isle, Mary Jane has been fascinated and inspired by the island's rich textile traditions, learning about Fair Isle knitting by looking at old textiles and sharing stories and knowledge around a cup of tea. Now, she has created a gorgeous collection of designs which she would take with her for a weekend trip to Shetland when a carry-on bag is all you take with you.

Mary Jane Mucklestone is a knitwear designer, teacher and author who has specialized in Fair Isle knitting, also called stranded knitting. Her work has been featured in publications like Vogue Knitting, Interweave Knits and various books. Mary Jane has a varied background in art and textiles earning a BFA in Printmaking from Pratt Institute, studying fashion at Parsons School of Design and Textiles and Historic Costume at the University of Washington. You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Please note: the cost of return shipping will be the responsibility of the customer if the return is not a result of an error or damage by Harrisville Designs. When a return/exchange is received, the customer will be refunded for the cost of the product only, but not the original cost of shipping. If the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.), Harrisville Designs will pay for return shipping and will take responsibility for all previous charges (contact us prior to shipping a return to receive return authorization).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (5 to 7 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
