TURBINE was created by combining two ends of flyWHEEL on the spinning frames. This technique is known as ‘mock-twisting’. By doing this, the yarn comes off of the frames more puffy and soft, but also more delicate than tightly spun singles. Because the base construction was designed to be soft, we needed to give the yarn some structure and strength. To add strength and durability we aggressively combined three plies together on the twister to create a ropy and more durable yarn. This balance is challenging to achieve. If you add too much twist, the yarn becomes kinky and heavy. We wanted to engineer this bulky to be light and relaxed without compromising strength. In addition, we developed TURBINE to create exceptional textures and stitch definition in the knitting. If you look at the yarn closely, you’ll see the effect that the three ends plied gives the yarn. It reminded us of water spiraling through a pipe, thus inspiring the name. We were very excited with the results and hope you will enjoy this yarn and turn it into a favorite accessory or thoughtful (but quick) gift.

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Please note: the cost of return shipping will be the responsibility of the customer if the return is not a result of an error or damage by Harrisville Designs. When a return/exchange is received, the customer will be refunded for the cost of the product only, but not the original cost of shipping. If the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.), Harrisville Designs will pay for return shipping and will take responsibility for all previous charges (contact us prior to shipping a return to receive return authorization).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (5 to 7 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
