Punch needle is a textile technique similar to rug hooking that creates a highly textured tapestry surface made of loops. Our new kit, designed in collaboration with bookhou studio’s Arounna Khounnoraj, comes in two patterns (see the leaf design here) and contains all of the tools and materials you need to create a unique wall hanging. Once you find the right rhythm, you’ll discover that punch needle allows you to fill a large area quickly. Regardless of your experience level, these kits are a fun, rewarding way to “draw” with yarn.
Arounna Khounnoraj is a maker, teacher, and the author of the books Visible Mending and Punch Needle, which is available in seven different languages. In 2002 she and John Booth cofounded bookhou, a Toronto-based multidisciplinary studio that emphasizes natural handmade materials and small production pieces. This is Arounna’s first collaboration with Harrisville Designs. You can follow her on Instagram or visit the bookhou website.
