Lesson 10: Tapestry Weaving
Students learn the history of tapestry weaving and how to weave pictures.
Paragraph from the Chapter
"Most people think of a tapestry as a woven picture. Unlike cloth weaving, the weft yarns in tapestries completely cover the warp threads, creating a weft-faced piece. In addition, the design for a tapestry is often drawn on paper first. The drawing, or cartoon, is placed behind the warp and used as a guide during weaving."
