Developed and perfected by Peter Collingwood over twenty-five years, the Shaft-Switching Device is offered as a special option with our rug looms. It has proven to be a simple but effective tool for achieving the exciting designs that Shaft-Switching makes possible. In its simplest form, Shaft-Switching allows you to activate a warp end on either of two shafts (harnesses) without having to cut and re--thread that end in the process. Being able to effectively change the tie-up with just the flip of a leaver makes possible designs that are otherwise extremely difficult, if not impossible, to achieve.

The Collingwood Shaft-Switching Device is available for 45" and 60" rug looms with 1/2" spacing. There are 84 levers on the 45" and 114 levers on the 60" loom. Please refer to Peter Collingwood's book, Rug Weaving Techniques: Beyond the Basics for more detailed discussion of Shaft-Switching and its capabilities.

Sectional Warp Beam Adapters will turn your warp beam into sectionally divided beam providing more accurate tension.

Bold Down Steel Brackets are for bolting the loom right to the floor.

Shipping Speed

Our staff in New Hampshire is working hard to get your package to you. Most orders ship in 3-4 business days from date of ordering.

You will receive an email notification from us when your order has shipped. The tracking number in this email is the best way to track your package and its estimated arrival date. If you do not receive a shipping confirmation email from us within a week of placing your order, please check your junk-mail folder.

We offer free shipping on orders over $75.

Orders under $75 will be charged a flat rate of $8.50.

Non-Contiguous U.S. (Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. Territories)

We offer free shipping on orders over $75.*

International, including Canada and Mexico

International orders are shipped for a $15 flat rate (exceptions apply, see below).

Please note that duties, taxes and fees are not included in the shipping price and are the responsibility of the customer upon receipt of the order.

$15 flat rate shipping does not apply to fleece, floor loom kits or assembled looms.

Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Please note: the cost of return shipping will be the responsibility of the customer if the return is not a result of an error or damage by Harrisville Designs. When a return/exchange is received, the customer will be refunded for the cost of the product only, but not the original cost of shipping. If the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.), Harrisville Designs will pay for return shipping and will take responsibility for all previous charges (contact us prior to shipping a return to receive return authorization).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (5 to 7 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

Workshop and Classes Withdrawal/Refund Policy

Please note our 2024 cancellation and refund policy includes a non-refundable $100.00 registration fee per workshop. In the case must withdraw, you have 8 weeks prior to class for a full tuition refund, less the registration fee. After this date all payments are non-refundable, no exceptions. Thank you for your understanding.
