*OPTIONAL BOARDING HOUSE ROOM RESERVATION (THIS HOLDS YOUR SPOT, ROOM FEES + TAX DUE AT THE END OF YOUR STAY)
JULY 29 - AUG 2 (MON-FRI, 9 AM–4 PM)
Imagine what you'll discover when you expand your knowledge of 4-harness weave structures to 8-harnesses. Hint - the opportunities for design are endless! Perhaps no other structure demonstrates this better than twill. So let Bettie Zakon-Anderson, a professional weaving instructor with more than 4 decades of weaving experience, help you to begin your exploration by weaving an 8-harness gamp including point, rosepath, broken, expanded M and W, advancing and undulating twills on a colorway of your choice. You’ll discover how these design options expand just by a change in the tie-up or with color and weave effects. You’ll also be able to take your color exploration further into the darks and lights of shadow weave. Lace structures will provide an opportunity to review units and blocks and lead our exploration towards combining different structures in your design. Harrisville 8-harness looms will be provided, along with all necessary weaving accessories.
Skill Level: Advanced beginner. Students must know how to actively warp and weave on a floor loom.
Materials needed: A notebook, ruler, scissors, pencil, and slippers or socks, are recommended for this class.
