Tapestry Weaving Class
Date: June 5-9 (Mon- Fri)
Instructor: Tom Jipson
Students will begin with a sampler to learn a number of different joining techniques, ways to blend colors, various surface effects and to work from a cartoon. You’ll learn to weave curved shapes as well as geometric forms. Once past the basic elements, students can work on a more complex piece. This tapestry combines more challenging technical aspects with a wide range of possible color effects. You can choose from several different suggested designs or work on an original design of your own. This will allow students to focus more closely on their own interests. Students will weave on a 4-harness loom and must know how to warp a floor loom.
