Delve deep into all that a “straight eight” threading can offer. Join Handwoven Technical Editor and professional weaving instructor Elisabeth Hill to explore the exciting possibilities of twill, crepe, collapse, weft-faced/warp-faced, deflected double weave, waffle, double weave, and more. During this technically savvy week-long workshop, you’ll select a colorway of your choice and wind a six-yard warp on which you’ll discover the many structures possible using this versatile threading. You’ll take home five large or eight small towels, along with a wealth of future project possibilities at your fingertips!
Skill Level: Students should be confident dressing their looms and reading a draft. Students will be weaving on an 8-harness loom.
Cotton or cottolin yarns. Students can bring a range of colors .5 yard warps, approx. 5,000 yards needed total.
