Sept 20 - 24 (Mon - Fri, 9-4)
This class will demonstrate that you don’t need a wide loom to weave a blanket, and is designed to encourage weavers to take on the large project they have been dreaming of. Traditional textiles of many cultures provide wonderful examples of blanket-size pieces woven in strips and then assembled. We will draw inspiration from early American blankets and West African strip woven textiles to design our own blankets and then weave them using Harrisville’s floor looms and the beautiful palette of Harrisville 100% wool yarns.
Skill Level: Advanced beginner. Students should know how to warp and weave on a floor loom.
in our store, including our floor looms.
We were very disappointed to have to cancel all of our workshops in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are hopeful that in 2021 we can begin the road back to our normal series. To that end this year, we are offering fewer work- shops, with fewer students per workshop and limiting the number of people who can stay in our Boarding House. We will be strictly observing all Covid protocols to ensure your safety and the safety of our teachers and staff. We don’t know at this point if masks will still be required, but if they are, we will have plenty of masks available. There will also be lots of hand sanitizer and disinfec- tant sprays. We are hopeful that our classes will take place, and we look forward to seeing you. Stay safe!
