Tapestry Weaving with Tom Jipson
September 2 - 6 (Mon – Fri)
In this class you’ll begin by weaving a sampler to learn a number of different joining techniques, ways to blend colors, various surface effects and to work from a cartoon. Curved shapes as well as geometric forms will be explored. Once past the basic elements, students can work on a more complex piece. This tapestry combines more challenging technical aspects with a wide range of possible color effects. You can choose from several different suggested designs or work on an original design of your own. This will allow you to focus more closely on your own interests.
Students in this class must know how to warp and weave on a 4-harness floor loom.
